This grade includes climbing peaks and the demanding treks in remote areas. Participants having basic knowledge of use of crampons and ice axes.

Splendid Thapa Peak is situated in the Dhaulagiri region and in the northern part of Dhampus Pass which can be accessed through the Hidden Valley. Starting from Beni and then passing through the Marshyangdi Khola to Darbang takes us via forest into the high country. Most of the way is over the glaciers and snow crossing French Col (5240m.), Hidden Valley and after that the Dhampus Pass.

Thapa Peak is a stunning peak for mountaineers in the North-east of the gigantic Dhaulagiri range. It is a trouble-free trekking peak to climb which lets you witness the stunning Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan ranges a very open spot to view the vista from. Dhaulagiri (8167m.) and Tukuche Peak (6920m.) visible amazingly near us will be the unforgettable experience. Also, Thapa peak offers above thirty mountains views such as Dhaulagiri I (8163m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Sita Chuchura (6611m.),  Tukche Peak (6920m.), Thorong Peak (6484m.), Tilicho peak (7134m.), Yakawa Kan (6482m.), Mukut Himal (6639m.), Puth Hiunchuli (7246m.), Tangu Peak (6197m.), Tsarste (6347m.) Hongde peak (6556m.) and several other more snow capped peaks as well as Dhaulagiri glacier and one of the deepest gorges of the world.

Thapa peak climbing - Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu airport, warm reception and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Free day in Kathmandu for issuing permits and checking gears for trip. 
Day 03: Drive to Beni. O/N Guest house or local lodges.
Day 04: Trek to Babiyachour 3 to 4 hours.
Day 05: Babiyachour to Dharapani 5 to 6 hours.
Day 06: Dharapani to Mudi 5 to 6 hours.
Day 07: Mudi to Boghara 4 to 5 hours.
Day 08: Boghara to Dolang 5 to 6 hours.
Day 09: Dolang to Pine Forest 5 to 6 hours.
Day 10: Pine Forest to Italian Base Camp (3200m). 7 to 8 hours.
Day 11: Acclimatization day at Italian Base Camp Local excursion 2 to 4 hours.
Day 12: Italian Base Camp to Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4700m) 7-8 hours.
Day 13: Dhaulagiri Base Camp to French Pass (5360m), then on to Hidden Valley (4900m) 5 to 6 hours.
Day 14: Rest and Acclimatization day at Hidden Valley 6 to 7 hours.
Day 15: Hidden Valley to Thapa Pass (5250m) then to Yak Kharka (3000m) 6 to 7 hours.
Day 16: Yak Khark - Thapa Peak Base camp.
Day 17: Rest for acclimatization.
Day 18: High Camp of peak.
Day 19: One extra day (In case of weather turn bad).
Day 20: Summit of Thapa peak 6012m and back to Base camp.
Day 21: Base camp - Yak Kharka.
Day 22: Yak Kharka to Tukuche (2800m) 4 to 5 hours.
Day 23: Tukuche to Ghasa (2120m) 6 to 7 hours.
Day 24: Ghasa to Tatopani (1220m) 5 to 6 hours.
Day 25: Trek to Ghorepani.
Day 26: Trek down to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel.  
Day 27: Drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

Day 29: Transfer to airport for your final departure to home.

Travel Insurances

Travelling is an investment and we believe that an insurance makes your investment secure. It is a condition of joining any of our adventure trips that be protected against comprehensive expenses potential to incur due to medial issues or accidents (to include helicopter rescue, air ambulance, and treatment costs). Please be noted that we do not arrange or sell insurance.

A relaxed trip is not possible without good travel insurance. In the event of any sickness or injury, the cost of emergency treatment and evacuation is shocking. Therefore, travel insurance is strongly recommended for everyone who signs up with us. We strongly recommend that you be careful while choosing a policy as some makes special exceptions for adventure travel. Before buying your insurance make sure your insurer is aware of the AET adventure itinerary that you are going to undertake and is agreeable to cover all activities being undertaken in the trip. Such as if you are planning trekking or climbing/expedition in Himalayas your insurance must cover emergency air ambulance/helicopter rescue including medical expenses. For a group tours in urban areas, your insurance coverage of ambulance or helicopter rescue is not mandatory, however better to have with them too. Again, in Tibet trips there is no possibility of helicopter rescue, so no need to buy the air ambulance coverage in Tibet trips. Also, check your insurance policy firmly to even include trip cancellation, as all deposits paid are non-refundable.

Please kindly provide us your copy of insurance policy (e.g. your insurance certificate) or carry it with you while you come on the trip.


Accommodation

Thapa Peak Climbing itinerary is a mixture of lodges and tents accommodations while you are on the mountain. Actually trek part we accommodate on the best lodges/guest house and has been chosen according their eco-friendliness, best location, hygiene and friendly nature. On climbing section will accommodate with comfortable two men camping tent, foam mattress, 4 season sleeping bag. We maintain standard & comfort in every means with best of our knowledge, experiences and costs. All accommodations on trekking/climbing lodge & tent is based on twin share. We provide standard hotels in Kathmandu with breakfast.


Food during the trip

Freshly cook food on full board basis will be provided both on trekking and climbing sections through the best provided lodges and by our experienced and trained cook during the climbing respectively, foods are high level of balance diet, hygiene and safety. Three meals (Nepali, Sherpa, and Tibetan, Continental, Italian and Indian cusions) will be provided both in lodges and during the camp. Acclimatization

Alpine Eco Trek is professionals at operating at high-altitude. Each trip we run has a realistic acclimatization programme. Our entire adventure trips are designed to allow gradual height gain, spread over a number of days. High altitude is not predictable sickness, so there is no way of predicting who will suffer from altitude but, for the vast majority of people, a slow ascent to height will produce minimal effects. We can provide 'Gamow Bag' as a precautionary measure as per your request on renting basis. Acclimatizing takes time and there are no safe shortcuts. All trips to altitudes in excess of 3,000 meters carry medicines essential to the treatment of altitude sickness, and our leaders, guides and staffs are well trained to administer them and to know the symptoms.
