Trek from Phaplu to Everest base camp is a classic and original route. Long-time ago trekkers used to walk all the way from Jiri to EBC and trek back to the same place at Jiri but now, since there is a small mountain airport in Phaplu has been build and as an alternative way of Lukla airport, this route is getting popular among the adventure trekkers. 

Phaplu Everest base camp 17 days trek is the best alternative route if Lukla flights are not happing. Due to weather, Lukla flights get cancel quite often, this route is the best option for those trekkers who have a limited time. Flights from Kathmandu to Phaplu can operate even if the weather is not so good. 

Everest base camp trek from Phaplu starts from Kathmandu with a scenic flight to Phaplu from where our adventure and the challenging journey begin. Gradually uphill and downhill, the trek reaches to Lukla then to Namche Bazaar where we will spend two nights to have proper acclimatization. In the next days, we trek to Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorak Shep and finally Kala Patthar and Everest base camp. Get enjoy and be thrilled being on the base camp of the world.

Phaplu EBC trekking holiday covers low land from JPhaplu to highland Kalapathar (5545m). This is a breathtaking trip to Everest base camp walking with its panoramic view of Everest 8848m, Cho Oyu 8152m, Lhotse 8516m, Makalu 8463m and Ama Dablam 6456m. Day 1:Fly from Kathmandu to Phaplu and trek to Nuntala, 5 to 6 hrs walking

The trail crosses the Traksindola (3,071m) before descending once again through the forest to Nuntala. Overnight at local lodge.

From Nuntala, descend continues to Dudh Koshi (Milk river) the largest river on the trek. Then ascend through several Sherpa and Rai villages. Terraced fields and forest to the spread out village of Khari-Khola. Overnight at guest house.

The path ascends through Sherpa villages and a forest inhabited by monkeys, and then winds steeply up and down through the Dudh Koshi canyan to Puiyan. Overnight at guest house.

The trail climbs for about an hour after Puiyan to a ridge at 2,800m. Then up to another ridge. Passing the path to Lukla airport, after which we climb on to Phakding. Overnight at guest house.

The trek begins with a slight climb to Jhorsalle, the trail passes a waterfall. Full day, we pass villages interspersed with magnificent forest- rhododendron, magnolia trees and giant firs and on the way to walking you will be rewarded (weather permitting) your first glimpse of Kusum Kanggru (6,369m) Thamserku (6,608m) Everest (8,848m) and Nuptse (7,879 m). A steep climb up to the beautiful village of Namche bazaar (3,445m). Overnight at guest house.

Acclimatization is most important before proceeding to a higher elevation. It is therefore recommended that we take a short day's hike to Everest view hotel or relax and explore the sherpa culture of Namche village.

A couple hours walk takes us to phungithanga; from there the trail climbs through forests where we can spot musk deer. Tengboche sits on a saddle at 3,860m in a clearing surrounded by dwarf fires and rhododendrons. Kwongde (6,187m) Tawache(6,542m) Everest (8,848m) Nuptse (7,855m) Lhotse (8,618m) Amadablam (6,856m) Thamserku (6,608m) provides an inspiring panorama of Himalayan giants. We visit the Buddhist Monastery at Tengboche, the largest in Khumbu region. Overnight at guest house in Tengboche.

Beyond Tengboche the altitude really starts to tell. The trail droops down to Deboche, crosses the Imja Khola and climbs past superb mani stones ( carved with the Tibetan Buddhist chant om mani padme hum) to Pangboche at 3,890m. The gompa here is worth visiting. Then the trail start climbs to Pheriche 4,240m. Where there is a small health post and medical facility, which gives lectures everyday on Altitude Sickness. Overnight at guest house.

The trail climbs to Phalang karpo at 4,340m then Duglha at 4,620m,From Dughla the trail ascends the broad, gently sloping valley and climb steeply in to the terminal moraine of the Khumbu glacier then left in to the memorial area Chukpilhara, before reaching the Lobuche at 4,900m. Overnight at guest house in Lobuche.

The trail from Lobuche follows the grassy ablation valley with great views of Pumori then crosses tributary glaciers to reach the dry lake bed of Gorakshep. Stop for lunch then climb Kalapattar to get the best views of Everest and the surrounding mountains and back to Gorakshep for the evening. Overnight at Gorakshep.

Wake up early in the morning, get well ready and start an early hike to Everest base camp. Although, the hike is cold and freezing, we have a new energy in our body to be on the highest base camp in the world. We are enthusiastic to be at that base camp from where all the climbers start their expedition to summit the top of the world. We enjoy our quality time spending at Everest base camp and trek back to Lobuche for overnight stay.

 We start our trek after breakfast at Lobuche. We are in a hurry to leave this beautiful place since this is very and cold and freezing place. We trek slowly down to Pangboche where we can find a better accommodation alternative.

 We walk down to the river then start hiking up to Khumjung village. Since this is a very beautiful village we will enjoy our stay at Khumjung exploring the Sherpa culture and traditions. Overnight at guest house in Khumjung village.

From Kumjung it is a short hike to Namche Bazaar. We will stop and give you time to make any final souvenirs purchases before continuing on down the hill to Manjo. Overnight at guest house in Manjo.

Even though we are going down the valley the trek has a final sting for us. We must hike up a hill to get to Lukla. Overnight at hotel in Lukla.

After breakfast at hotel, we will be transferred to airport in Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport we will be transferred to our hotel. Rest and relax till evening. One of our team leaders will take you to a typical Nepali restaurant for a farewell dinner to celebrate the Classic Everest base camp trek. Overnight at hotel.

    How can I book Classic Everest base camp trek?

    Once you confirmed trip, we need photo copy of your passport and 20% down payment of the total price for advance flight tickets and hotel booking and permit process.

    How can I enter in Nepal?

    Nepal is a popular tourist destination in south Asia. Several airlines have direct and none-stop flights from Middle East and Asia to Kathmandu, Capital of Nepal. There are direct flights from London, Paris, Frankfurt, Doha, Osaka, Shanghi, Mascow, Bangkok, Singapore, Hongkong, Karachi, Bombay, Delhi, Calcutta, Paro, Dhaka, Lhasa, and Varanasi.

    Can I do Classic Everest base camp trek?

    This trek is suitable for any walker looking for something adventure and challenging with stunning views of Mt. Everest region. It does not require that you have any previous trekking or mountaineering experience. Although, daily jugging or walking exercise is useful and you need to be in good physical condition and able to walk for 5-6 hours daily.

    When should I come for Classic Everest base camp trek?

    From mid Feb to June and mid September to early December is the best season. However, July, August and Jan are also okay and trekking can be done.

    Do I need to stay in Katmandu?

    Kathmandu valley, one of the historical cities as well as the capital of Nepal, at least, you need to spend two nights in Kathmandu before and after your trip. In our program we are providing you the standard accommodation in Kathmandu on bed and breakfast basis.

    Can I join with group?

    Yes, you can join with group, we guarantees a series of fixed group departures dates for Classic Everest base camp trek. We can arrange small group trekking trip to suit your requirements. Please contact us for group departure dates.

    Do I need to join with group?

    It is not necessary that you need to follow our fixed group departures dates, because private trip departs every day upon your request which are best suited to couples, families and small groups of friends. We are happy to organize your holiday according by your selecting starting date.

    What kind of meals I can have during the trip?

    All Meals on full board basis will be provided during trekking. Freshly cooked food is served at all times (western, continental and Nepali meals are available in all places). Three meals a day will be provided.

    Do I have pre-departure meeting?

    Yes, at first, our staff will receive you at the airport and transfer to the hotel and our tour leader will brief regarding about the trip. The briefing will cover the itinerary and introduced your trek Leader.

    Can I charge camera batteries along the trek?

    Yes, Most of the places, you can charge batteries along the trek (per hour USD 2-3 for charging).

    Is someone going to meet me at the airport? Are transfers included?

    Definitely, one of our team leaders will come to the airport to pick you up. We will be displaying a play card of company with your name on it. Airport transfer is included.
