Nepal Tibet Bhutan tour - Itinerary

  • Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to Thamel, overnight at Buddha hotel with breakfast.

    Arrival in Kathmandu Airport, meet our representative and transfer to hotel. Check in to the Hotel. Our tour specialist will give pre tour information. Overnight at hotel.

  • Day 02 Sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley, visit Pasupatinath Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Overnight at Buddha hotel with breakfast.

    After Breakfast sightseeing tour of Pashupatinath temple which is very famous Hindus temple in Nepal where you can see different environment of Temple, death burning body, devotees etc. Then you will proceed to Tour of Patan to have a look and study many beautiful and interesting arts and architecture and historic and cultural phenomena. Then after Sightseeing Tour of Bhaktapur City is just a 14 kms east of Kathmandu. Bhaktapur means the city of devotees and is a center of potter and intriguing masks. The major sightseeing places are, Durbar Square, of 55 windows, Nyatapola, Bhairavnath Temple, Dattatreya Temple etc. O/n at Hotel.

  • Day 03 Drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan National Park (155 km). 5 hours by a tourist bus. Overnight at a Resort with full-board.

    After breakfast, 5 hours drive to Chitwan National Park, Lunch at resort. Check in Resort. Jungle activities will be followed by different programs. Dinner will be served. O/n at Resort.

  • Day 04 Chitwan National Park, Full day jungle Activities. Overnight at a resort with full board.

    Full Day explore the Jungle by different program such as Elephant Ride Safari, Jungle walk, Canoe Trip, Elephant Breeding center visit etc. Afternoon Lunch & evening Dinner. After Dinner Tharu cultural Show can be seen. O/n at Resort.

  • Day 05 Drive from Chitwan to Pokhara (910 m), 4 hours by a tourist bus. Overnight at hotel with breakfast.

    After Breakfast 4 hrs Drive to Pokhara through good scenery of River and countryside. Check in to the Hotel. Afternoon, tour around Pokhara valley including Davis fall, Kumbheshore Cave, boating at Fewa Lake and take a walk around Lakeside. O/n Hotel.

  • Day 06 Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu. 6 hours drive by a tourist bus. Overnight at Buddha hotel with breakfast.

    Early morning, a 30 min drive to Sarangkot from where you can obverse sunrise view with some awesome Annapurna ranges. Back to the Hotel and time for Breakfast. After Breakfast drive back to Kathamndu. O/n Hotel.

  • Day 07 After the breakfast, drive to airport and fly to Gonggar airport and transfer to Lhasa city. Overnight at hotel with breakfast.

    In the morning, we will convene at the Kathmandu airport for the spectacular hour long flight to Lhasa. The Air China will fly us over much of the magnificent Himalayan range providing us with mountain views the entire way. Once landed at Gonggar airport the tour group will meet with our Tibetan guide. We must travel two hours by Land cruisers to reach the actual city of Lhasa. Overnight at hotel.

  • Day 08 Sightseeing in Lhasa, visit Sera Monastery and Norbulingkha Palace. Overnight at hotel with breakfast.

    On the second day, our guide will lead you through several of Lhasa’s many monasteries. The first one we will visit is Sera Monastery, a fifteenth century sprawl of golden roofs and whitewashed walls. This well preserved monastery is located just a few miles North of Lhasa and is home to several hundred monks. In the afternoon we will visit the summer palace of the Dalai Lama, Norbulingkha, as well as the Jokhang Temple. This temple is the most revered shrine in all of Tibet and is constantly bustling with devout worshippers. We will also be given the opportunity to shop in Barkor, the crowded central market of Lhasa. Overnight at hotel.

  • Day 09 Sightseeing in Lhasa, visit Potala Palace and Drepung Monastery. Overnight at hotel with breakfast.

    A trip to Tibet would not be complete without experiencing the vital Potala Palace. This palace is Lhasa’s cardinal landmark and is a wonder of Eastern architecture. Your first site of this massive structure will be a magical moment remembered for years to come. It has been a palace since the fifth or sixth century and was once home to the Dalai Lama. This truly amazing day will ended with a visit to the Drepung Monastery. Once the world’s largest monastery, housing 10,000 monks, Drepung monastery lies hidden in rocky ridges just beyond the city. Surprisingly much of the building was left untouched throughout the Cultural Revolution. Overnight at hotel.

  • Day 10 Drive from Lhasa to Gyantse, 261 km - 4200m. Overnight at hotel with breakfast.

     Today we finally began our overland journey culminating in Kathmandu, Nepal. One of the first sites we will see while traveling along the majestic Friendship Highway is the Khamba La. The breathtaking view at Khamba La allows one to see all the way to the summit of Nazin Kang Sa. Truly an amazing view! While continuing westward we will travel over the Karo La, a high pass surrounded by stupendous glaciers. The rest of the day will be spent enjoying the many magnificent valleys and exquisite Tibetan villages we pass through. The day will end in the town of Gyantse. We will spend the night in a hotel in this historical city. Overnight at hotel.

  • Day 11 Drive from Gyantse to Shigatse, 90km - 3800m. Overnight at hotel with breakfast.

    First thing in the morning we will visit Gyantse Dzong. This fort dates back to the fourteenth century and offers some of the most amazing views of Gyantse and the surrounding valley. Before leaving we will also visit the famed Gyantse Kumbum. This magnificent tiered structure is the largest stupa in all of Tibet. If the exquisite gold dome is not enough, this stupa is packed with Tibetan sculptures and paintings. Overnight at hotel. 

    The drive today, only 90 km, takes us to the second largest city in Tibet. Shigatse is a laid back city that provides excellent opportunity for both relaxation and exploration. As a group we will explore the local market and the Tahilhumpo Monastery. Tahilhumpo Monastery is one of the largest functioning monasteries in Tibet and was able to last through the Cultural Revolution nearly unscathed. It is a great pleasure to spend some time exploring the busy cobbled lanes twisting around these ancient buildings. At night we will relax and rest in the Shigatse Hotel or Similar.

  • Day 12 Drive from Shigatse to Shegar, 244km - 3900m. Overnight at hotel with breakfast.

    The views of this desert plateau provide for wondrous entertainment as we travel along the Friendship Highway. This stretch is some of the most spectacular landscape in Tibet. After passing through the small town of Lhatse we will cross Gyatmso La, the highest pass on our journey. The land quickly descends to plains after Gyatmso La. While traveling through the plains we will see many nomadic herders, quiet countryside, and secluded monasteries. The night will be spent in Hotel Quomolongma or similar in Shegar. Overnight at hotel.

  • Day 13 Drive from Shegar to Rongbuk, 68km - 5100m. Overnight at guesthouse with breakfast.

    After leaving Shegar we will travel only a short while before turning off the Friendship Highway. Our four wheel drive vehicles will takes us South towards the main Himalayan range while passing over Pang La. The view from the top of Pang La is truly stunning. One is able to see all the way from Makalu to Shishapangma. In the afternoon we will descend into the Rongbuk valley and Everest will jump quickly into view. This is your first chance to catch a glimpse of this awe-inspiring mountain. We will spend the night at the Gompa Guest House or similar standard.

  • Day 14 Drive from Rongbuk to Tingri, 65km - 4100m. Overnight at guesthouse with breakfast.

    This morning is the highlight of the trip for many. You are given the opportunity to explore the Everest Base camp. The views of Everest from so close make the mountain seem even more impressive than before. It is a truly breath taking experience to stare up at the sheer North face of this highest mountain in the world. Mount Everest towers above you in a looming yet magical way.

    After Lunch we will get back on the Friendship highway and continue our amazing journey. Overnight at guest house.

  • Day 15 Drive from Tingri to Kerung, 181km - 2300m. Overnight at guesthouse with breakfast.

    Continuing along the Friendship Highway we will leave Tingri and cross the Lalung La and the Shung La, two more incredible passes. The views from these passes are breathtaking once again. While standing on these passes one is surrounded by grandiose mountains such as Shishpangma, Cho Oyu, Gauri Shankar, and many more.

    In the afternoon we begin descending from the arid Tibetan plateau to a small town of Kerung. Overnight at guest house.

  • Day 16 Drive from Kerung to Kathmandu, 125km - 1350m. Overnight at Buddha hotel with breakfast.

    We will leave Kerung in the morning and head to the Nepalese border. The Friendship Bridge lies at the Border of China and Nepal and is only a few kilometers from Kerung. Sadly we must say goodbye to our Tibetan guide and driver at this point. Our Nepalese staff will meet you at the immigration Control and help with all the reentry formalities. The city of Kathmandu, our end destination, only six hours drives to the south. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 17 Fly from KTM to Paro (an hour flight) and drive to Thimphu (By Car, Approx. 1.5 hrs). Overnight at hotel with full board.

    Drive to Kathmandu international airport, fly to Paro, upon arrival, be greeted by our guide and escorted to the capital Thimphu, passing by Tamchog Lhakang iron bridge en route. Hotel check-in, then head for Buddha Dordenma Statue and Takin Sanctuary, where you'll see Bhutan's unique national animal Takin. Continue to meet the nuns at Zilukha Nunnery, before going to Bhutan Post Office Headquarters where we can make stamps with your own photos (USD 4 for 12 stamps, at your expense). Later visit Thimphu Dzong (Trashichho Dzong), the largest religious building in Thimphu as well as the central administrative center (open after 5 pm, Monday to Friday). Overnight: Thimphu Meals: Lunch, Dinner.

  • Day 18 Drive from Thimphu to Punakha, Punakha Sightseeing and walking. Overnight at hotel full board.

    On our way to Punakha, stop at Dochula Pass to have a coffee break and admire the grand 108 stupas. If in good weather, take in the enchanting views of Mt. Himalaya. Proceed to Chimmi Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to the Devine Madman and a sacred place where people pray for children. Next embrace the highlight - Punakha Dzong, a very beautiful Bhutanese architecture armed by the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers, with rich Buddhist collections. You will also visit Suspension Bridge nearby (the longest bridge in Bhutan). Overnight: Punakha, Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Day 19 Drive from Punakha to Paro(By Car, 4 Hrs), Paro Sightseeing. Overnight at hotel with full board.

    Drive back to Paro and start today's tour with Paro Dzong, perhaps the finest example of Bhutanese architecture as well as a local religious administrative centre. Later visit Ta Dzong, an ancient watchtower housing the National Museum, with abundant culture relics. Next go to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan and ends at a local farm house, where we can chat with local people, see how they live and may taste some homemade wine. Overnight: Paro, Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Day 20 Explore Tiger’s Nest monastery. Full day hiking activities. Overnight at hotel with full board.

    This morning, hike to visit Taktsang (Tiger's Nest), be amazed by the view of this sacred temple hanging on the rocky cliff, and take in the beauty of Paro valley. After that, move to the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, built to commemorate Bhutan’s victory over the Tibetan invaders. If in good weather, we'll see a great distant view of Mt. Chomolhari. Overnight: Paro, Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Day 21 Final transfer to Paro airport, fly home.

    After breakfast, we will drop you off to airport for your flight home. Say goodbye to Bhutan. Meals: Breakfast.
