Nepal Tibet Bhutan tour - Itinerary

  • Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350 m), transfer to the hotel, overnight at Manaslu hotel.

    Arrival in Kathmandu Airport, meet our representative and transfer to hotel. Check in to the Hotel. Our tour specialist will give pre-tour information. Overnight at Manaslu hotel with breakfast.

  • Day 02 Kathmandu sightseeing, drive to Nagarkot Hillside (2200m), 35km. Overnight at Club Himalaya hotel.

    After Breakfast sightseeing tour of Pashupatinath temple which is very famous Hindus temple in Nepal where you can see different environment of Temple, death burning body, devotees etc. Then you will proceed to Tour of Patan to have a look and study many beautiful and interesting arts and architecture and historic and cultural phenomena. After lunch at Patan, drive to Nagarkot (2200m), 35km, an hour drive. Overnight at Club Himalaya hotel. 

    Nagarkot is a village in central Nepal, at the rim of the Kathmandu Valley. It’s known for its views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest to the northeast, which are especially striking at sunrise and sunset. The surrounding scrubland is laced with trails and home to many butterflies. To the west is the ancient, pagoda-style Changunarayan Temple, dedicated to Vishnu and a Hindu pilgrimage site.

  • Day 03 Hike to Changunarayan Temple, 4 hrs. Visit Bhaktapur D.S, drive to KTM. Overnight at Manalu Hotel.

    Wake up early in the morning, hike to Nagarkot Viewpoint, watch the grand sunrise, enjoy the breathtaking and panoramic Himalayas. After breakfast, we start 4 hours hike from Nagarkot to Changunarayan temple. The hiking trail from Nagarkot to Chagunarayan gradually descends through the terraced fields through the ‘Tamang Village. The thatched houses, painted are built by with local stone hand–hewn by local craftsmen. In general these houses are 3 storied with a kitchen on the ground floor, a bedroom on the second and a store on the top. A courtyard in front has an adjoining shed for animals. Similarly the garden next to the house supplies all the household seasonal vegetables and fruit. Spring brings color to the village with young goat kids and other young animals as well as beautiful bright blossoms everywhere. Local wine making is pretty common through out the year on this day hike route from Nagarkot to Changunarayan. After exploring Temple, drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Bhaktapur means the city of devotees and is a center of potter and intriguing masks. The major sightseeing places are, Durbar Square, of 55 windows, Nyatapola, Bhairavnath Temple, Dattatreya Temple. After exploring Bhaktapur Durbar Square, drive to Kathmandu. Overnight at Manaslu hotel with breakfast.

  • Day 04 Drive to airport, fly to Gonggar airport, transfer to Lhasa city (3560m). Overnight at hotel.

    In the morning, we will convene at the Kathmandu airport for the spectacular hour long flight to Lhasa. The Air China will fly us over much of the magnificent Himalayan range providing us with mountain views the entire way. Once landed at Gonggar airport the tour group will meet with our Tibetan guide. We must travel two hours by Land cruisers to reach the actual city of Lhasa. Overnight at hotel with breakfast.

  • Day 05 Sightseeing in Lhasa, visit Sera Monastery and Norbulingkha Palace. Overnight at hotel.

    On the second day, our guide will lead you through several of Lhasa’s many monasteries. The first one we will visit is Sera Monastery, a fifteenth century sprawl of golden roofs and whitewashed walls. This well preserved monastery is located just a few miles North of Lhasa and is home to several hundred monks. In the afternoon we will visit the summer palace of the Dalai Lama, Norbulingkha, as well as the Jokhang Temple. This temple is the most revered shrine in all of Tibet and is constantly bustling with devout worshippers. We will also be given the opportunity to shop in Barkor, the crowded central market of Lhasa. Overnight at hotel with breakfast.

  • Day 06 Sightseeing in Lhasa, visit Potala Palace and Drepung Monastery. Overnight at hotel.

    A trip to Tibet would not be complete without experiencing the vital Potala Palace. This palace is Lhasa’s cardinal landmark and is a wonder of Eastern architecture. Your first site of this massive structure will be a magical moment remembered for years to come. It has been a palace since the fifth or sixth century and was once home to the Dalai Lama. This truly amazing day will ended with a visit to the Drepung Monastery. Once the world’s largest monastery, housing 10,000 monks, Drepung monastery lies hidden in rocky ridges just beyond the city. Surprisingly much of the building was left untouched throughout the Cultural Revolution. Overnight at hotel with breakfast.

  • Day 07 Drive from Lhasa to Namtso Lake (4700m), 240km, 5 hours drive. Overnight at Guesthouse.

    Drive Lhasa to Damshung, and forwards to Namtso Lake, literally heavenly lake, which is the biggest lake in Tibet and the second biggest salt lake in China as well as the highest lake in the world (4700m). It’s one of the three holy lakes in Tibet, playing an important role among Tibetans, excursion around the lake and Tashi Hermitage, overnight lodge at lake side with breakfast.

  • Day 08 Explore Namtso Lake and drive back to Lhasa, 240km 5 hours drive. Overnight at hotel in Lhasa.

    Namtso Lake: believed to be one of the three foremost sacred lakes in Tibet, Namtso Lake, to the majority of global tourists, undoubtedly remains a highlight for Tibet Lhasa tour. The surrealistic lake view against the backdrop of miles of lofty mountain ranges, notably known as Nyenchen Tanglha Range, simply defies human description. Only when you stroll along the lakeside while enjoying the lake so up-close can you fully understand the holiness and beauty of Namtso Lake. After exploring the Lake, drive back to Lhasa. Overnight at the hotel with breakfast.

  • Day 09 Fly from Lhasa to Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel. Overnight at Manaslu hotel.

    In the early morning, drive to Gonggar airport, farewell your guide and driver and fly to Kathmandu, welcome back reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Evening join farewell dinner with a live culture show. Overnight at Manalsu hotel or similar standard with breakfast.

  • Day 10 Fly Kathmandu to Paro (an hour flight), drive to Thimphu (By Car, Approx. 1.5 hrs). Overnight at hotel.

    Drive to Kathmandu international airport, fly to Paro, upon arrival, be greeted by our guide and escorted to the capital Thimphu, passing by Tamchog Lhakang iron bridge en route. Hotel check-in, then head for Buddha Dordenma Statue and Takin Sanctuary, where you'll see Bhutan's unique national animal Takin. Continue to meet the nuns at Zilukha Nunnery, before going to Bhutan Post Office Headquarters where we can make stamps with your own photos (USD 4 for 12 stamps, at your expense). Later visit Thimphu Dzong (Trashichho Dzong), the largest religious building in Thimphu as well as the central administrative center (open after 5 pm, Monday to Friday). Overnight: Thimphu Meals: Lunch, Dinner.

  • Day 11 Drive from Thimphu to Punakha, Punakha Sightseeing and walking. Overnight at hotel.

    On our way to Punakha, stop at Dochula Pass to have a coffee break and admire the grand 108 stupas. If in good weather, take in the enchanting views of Mt. Himalaya. Proceed to Chimmi Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to the Devine Madman and a sacred place where people pray for children. Next embrace the highlight - Punakha Dzong, a very beautiful Bhutanese architecture armed by the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers, with rich Buddhist collections. You will also visit Suspension Bridge nearby (the longest bridge in Bhutan). Overnight: Punakha, Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Day 12 Drive from Punakha to Paro(By Car, 4 Hrs), Paro Sightseeing. Overnight at hotel.

    Drive back to Paro and start today's tour with Paro Dzong, perhaps the finest example of Bhutanese architecture as well as a local religious administrative centre. Later visit Ta Dzong, an ancient watchtower housing the National Museum, with abundant culture relics. Next go to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan and ends at a local farm house, where we can chat with local people, see how they live and may taste some homemade wine. Overnight: Paro, Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Day 13 Explore Tiger’s Nest monastery. Full day hiking activities. Overnight at hotel.

    This morning, hike to visit Taktsang (Tiger's Nest), be amazed by the view of this sacred temple hanging on the rocky cliff, and take in the beauty of Paro valley. After that, move to the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, built to commemorate Bhutan’s victory over the Tibetan invaders. If in good weather, we'll see a great distant view of Mt. Chomolhari. Overnight: Paro, Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

  • Day 14 Final transfer to Paro airport, fly home.

    After breakfast, drive to the Paro airport, say goodbye to your guide, fly home.
