Nagarjun Hill also known as Jamachok is the best destination for one day hike. Walking through dense forest to hilltop from where the views are awe-inspiring, this hike begins after 15 minutes drive from the heart of the city. The place is also famous for Buddhist stupa. It takes 5 hours to complete the hike, normally three hours to going up and two hours to coming down.
The taxi to and from is only 15 minutes drive. Now, a motor able road leads through Raniban (Queen Forest) to this stupa. It takes about 45 minutes to reach there in motor/jeep while the hike is about 5 km. on foot and takes about 3 hours. It is quite steep and you have to climb about 754 m. in altitude as the stupa is situated on the top of the Nagarjuna hill at 2128m Altitude. Nagarjuna hill is also described in the literature as Vindya Mountain.
