To ensure the health and safety of all visitors, tourism is highly regulated in Nepal.
Before booking your trip with any trekking and travel company, it is important to confirm that the company is legally registered with the governmental authorities and other authorized travel associations in Nepal.
Some “travel companies,” individuals and “free lancers” operate trekking and travel companies in Nepal illegally with expired licenses, and they do not observe other regulatory requirements imposed by the National Tourism Board Act. Likewise, some trekking and travel companies based outside of Nepal attempt to do business in Nepal without proper licensing and without paying taxes and other fees imposed by the Government. These illegal operators create significant risks for the traveler.
To protect yourself from unscrupulous operators be sure to ask the following questions before booking your trip.
Is the company registered with the proper government authorities?
Is the company insured against accidents happening to their staff?
Is the company environmentally conscious?
Is the company registered with the appropriate authorized travel associations?
Does the Company have its own Bank account with a reputable bank?
Is the Company clear of back taxes?
We at Alpine Eco Trek offer you secure travel arrangements, and we committed to making your holiday safe and enjoyable.
Proper government authorities:
Alpine Eco Trek & Expedition is a well-known government-licensed trekking and travel company in Nepal. Please see copies of all legally required documents and certificates below.
At Alpine Eco Trek, we take pride in the fact that every single porter and guide employed by us is not only well paid but also protected by a life insurance policy. They are provided with warm clothing and proper shelter on all high altitude treks. All our treks benefit village economies by using local services (manpower, produce, lodges and other services). We ensure that all our staff is well paid, insured and properly equipped.
We are committed to environmentally responsible tourism. Alpine Eco Trek aims to ensure that our expeditions comply with policies which are socially, environmentally and culturally sound. We strongly believe that all our treks/tours should protect the environment, minimize pollution, respect local traditions, religions, and heritage, and benefit the communities in which we operate and we believe that low impact trekking/touring is the best way to preserve the beautiful and fragile places we visit.
A qualified professional has been hired to maintain our books. Additionally, a government approved tax auditor prepares the profit and loss statement and balance sheet at the end of each fiscal year. On the basis of this, we pay 10% of our profit to the government. We are clear of all back taxes and have paid our taxes in advance for the current year.
Guarantors and Bankers
Nepal Investment bank limited, which is the leading bank of Nepal, is our guarantor. As per the existing rules and regulation, we maintain a balance in this bank sufficient to cover any claims of refund from or compensation due our clients. The money you pay us for your trip is secure.
