Gosainkunda with Helambu trek Itinerary
Day 01 Arrival at Kathmandu airport (1,350m):
Day 02 Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing:
After breakfast, meet your tour guide in the lobby and start a guided tour including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath Temple and Baudhanath Stupa. In the evening, we organize a small meeting to introduce your trekking crew and settle the outstanding balances. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03 Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche, 9 hours drive:
After early breakfast, we take a scenic drive which will takes about 8 to 9 hours local bus or can drive by a private Land cruiser. Overnight stay at a mountain lodge in Dhunche from where we will have a majestic mountains view including Ganesh Himal, few peaks of Langtang range and the Tibetan peaks. Overnight at a lodge.
Day 04 Trek from Dhunche to Sing Gompa, 5 to 6 hours walking;
After breakfast, we start our trek from Dhunche to Sing Gompa, walking on a pleasant trail enjoying the beautiful villages and local landscapes we reach Sing Gompa. Overnight at a lodge.
Day 05 Trek from Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda Lake, 5 to 6 hours walking:
The trail to Lauribina Yak is steep up and continues for three hours. Then the trail becomes much narrow and misty as well as change in vegetation too as the green vegetation becomes much deserted and rocky. We reach Gosainkunda Lake where we will spend our overnight at a lodge.
Day 06 Trek from Gosainkunda to Ghopte, 5 to 6 hours walking:
After exploring around at Gosainkunda and holy dip into the Lake, we set for another day's walk. The walk goes through a steep trail for three hours and crosses an amazing Lauribina La pass at 4600m and the trail is too rocky. After the pass the trail becomes to descend and the slope continues for about three hours and reaches to Ghopte. Overnight at a lodge.
Day 07 Trek from Ghopte to Tharepati, 4 to 5 hours walking:
The trail from Ghopte to Tharepati continues through the forest of pine and juniper about 4 hour's slope up to Thadepati. Overnight at a lodge.
Day 08 Trek from Tharepati to Melamchi Gaon, 4 to 5 hours walking:
From Tharepanti, a short and steep descent through mixed fir and rhododendron forest rich with bird life. Crashing waterfalls sound from the rocky gullies below as we approach Melamchi Gaon. Overnight at a lodge.
Day 09 Trek from Melamchi Gaon to Tarkegyang, 4 to 5 hours walking:
The trail descends steeply to the valley floor, where we can have a well earned dip in the crystal- clear river before completing the short and mild ascent up the other side of the valley. Tarkegyang boasts an 18th century Gompa with huge brass prayer wheel. Overnight at a lodge.
Day 10 Trek from Tarkegyang to Sermathang, 5 to 6 hours walking:
A flat pleasant trail to Shermathang, this is an interesting Sherpa village and they will be happy to introduce themselves that they are different from the Sherpa of Khumbu (Everest region) In the clear day the villages provide good views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Gosainkunda and Rolwaling, even Everest also in a distance. Overnight at a lodge.
Day 11 Trek from Sermathang to Melamchi Bazaar, 2 to 3 hours walk and 5 hours drive:
Today the trail gradually descends all the way to Melamchi Pul Bazaar through meadows and cultivated fields. On the way, we come across several old villages. With the spectacular Mountain View, we will get to interact with local and friendly people. Drive back to Kathmandu by bus or private vehicle. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12 Free day in Kathmandu:
Breakfast will be at hotel, today is a free day for shopping and stroll around. In the evening, join the farewell dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant and celebrate the trek with your trekking crew. Overnight at hotel.
Day 13 Final departure:
After breakfast, we will drop you to international airport for your onward flight, wish you have a safe and sound flight and hope to see you again in the future.
