When Should I plan for the EBC Luxury Lodges Trek?
The best time to travel to Everest Base Camp would be either in autumn or in the spring season. Autumn stretching from mid-September to mid-December offers some incredible views during the trek, the air is nice and cool and the sky is as clear as can be ideal for mountain views. During the spring season which goes from March to May, the weather is a lot warmer and the days are sunny. With more vegetation in bloom, this time can be one of the best times to travel to Everest Base Camp. While the route to Everest Base Camp can be done all year long, Alpine Eco Trek recommends either booking during the autumn or spring seasons. Trekkers who would like to come during the summer, June to July will face heavy downpours of rain. But the flora is in full bloom and those who practice, botany will have the time of their life inspecting those special Himalayan flowers and plants.
The winter season starting from December and ending in February is also a good time to trek to Everest Base Camp the weather will be cold and snow blizzards can occur blocking the view, but non the less an adventure in itself. The autumn and spring seasons are considered the high seasons and trekking trails can get packed, while there is safety in numbers for those who like to enjoy more privacy and nature we do recommend coming in the winter or the early summer.

Are your porters well treated?
Porters are the superheroes of the Himalayas, and sadly this job is greatly undervalued, but not at Alpine Eco Trek. With us, we provide the necessary Porter’s Care programs to help these incredible heroes making sure that your trekking luggage and equipment get from A to B. Supporting the IPPG or the International Porter Protection Group we provide the right footwear, shelter, and clothing our porters need. Our porters are insured and get the medical care they need in case of emergencies and by limiting the luggage to 15kg or 33 pounds per trekker these heroes don’t get additional difficulties during your trek. Alpine Eco Trek provides a fair wage and treatment for all our porters and this, in turn, keeps everybody motivated for their respective jobs well.
Do I need travel Insurance?
Travel insurance is an absolute must if you want to enjoy any type of trek with Alpine Eco Trek. Our trekkers need to make sure to be fully medically insured before undergoing a trek as accidents and medical issues can occur when you go trekking in high altitudes. Make sure that you are at least insured for air ambulance, rescue helicopter, and treatment costs, this way you are fully protected and can take part in this exciting trek without any worries. Please do note that unfortunately Alpine Eco Trek cannot arrange or sell any type of insurance policies and we do recommend all our trekkers to get the insurance from their respective countries or through a reliable online insurance seller and send us a copy during your booking.
Does your Itinerary provide proper acclimatization?
With the high altitude, trekking comes also acclimatization. During Alpine Eco Trek’s Everest Base Camp Luxury trek of 18 days, a carefully planned itinerary is organized with the necessary acclimatization days planned. As you trek above 5000m the oxygen becomes less and it’s crucial to take the proper steps to avoid AMS, Acute Mountain Sickness. AMS is not to take lightly as there are cases where it ended up in serious illness and in some cases even death. Trekkers with previous lung or heart diseases are recommended to discuss our itinerary with your doctor before departing or even booking this trek. Prevention is better than cure as they say, and with Alpine Eco trek your safety is our main priority during any type of trek in Nepal. Common symptoms of AMS are frequent fatigue, stomach pains, lightheadedness, loss of appetite, and fever. Our guides are professionally trained to deal with AMS but they are not doctors as so during the trek if you might feel any of these symptoms you are required to report to your trekking guide so that they may take the necessary steps to help you further acclimatize and successfully finish your trek.
How about health Conditions and Experience Requirements?
Everest Base Camp Luxury trek doesn’t come with special health conditions and experience requirements. This amazing trek in Nepal can be done by novice trekkers, just make sure you got the determination and good attitude to see it through. Hiking through the Himalayas for an average of 4 to 7 hours a day carrying your own personal backpack, and on some days 8 to 9 hours can be strenuous for some but our expert team is there to guide you every step of the way. Alpine Eco Trek does recommend building up your stamina a few weeks prior to your departure to Nepal, this, in turn, will help you enjoy more of this incredible trek to Everest Base Camp.
A great way to build up your stamina is by jogging, gym fitness, or even hiking to higher elevations. Those with pre-hiking or trekking experience will have it a bit easier than others but as no technical skills are required, this trek can be completed by young and old. Those with medical conditions such as lung, blood, or heart conditions are required to inform us during your booking so that we can take the required steps to ensure your safety. We do recommend consulting with your doctor before heading out and asking for advice about AMS Acute Mountain Sickness.
