Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek Overview

Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek is one of the classic journeys of the world with breathtaking mountain scenery including Mt. Everest, Pumori, and Ama Dablam while staying in the luxury mountain lodges of the Khumbu Region. The Luxury lodges are at a standard far better than anything else available in the destination. The lodges are located in the heart of every town and provide high-quality services with landscaped gardens, comfortable lounges, and warm bedrooms as well as hot showers and modern toilets.

Everest base camp deluxe lodges trek begins with a scenic and exciting flight to Lukla, from here we follow in the footsteps of great mountaineers for the walk into Mt. Everest base camp. We are now in the Sherpa kingdom where you will meet the friendly Sherpa people, and see colorful Buddhist prayer flags, Mani walls, and legendary monasteries along the way.

Since the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek is a high-level adventure trip, we have designed this trek with plenty of time for the necessary acclimatization. Our trekking route takes you to the prettiest Sherpa villages in the Khumbu and to Namche Bazaar the colorful and vibrant heart of Sherpa Land. We have designed our route which allows you to have the great opportunity to visit the major monasteries of the Khumbu Region at Tengboche and Dingboche. The high points of our itinerary are the trek from Luboche/Gorakshep along the Khumbu glacier to the highest base camp in the world and the climb up to Kalapathar for the panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse.

Best Seasons for Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek

The best time to trek to Everest Base Camp would be either in autumn or in the spring season. Autumn stretching from mid-September to mid-December offers some incredible views during the trek, the air is nice and cool and the sky is as clear as can be ideal for mountain views. During the spring season which goes from March to May, the weather is a lot warmer and the days are sunny. With more vegetation in bloom, this time can be one of the best times to travel to Everest Base Camp.

While the route to Everest Base Camp can be done all year long, Alpine Eco Trek recommends either booking during the autumn or spring seasons. Trekkers who would like to come during the summer, June to July will face heavy downpours of rain. But the flora is in full bloom and those who practice, botany will have the time of their life inspecting those special Himalayan flowers and plants.

The winter season starting in December and ending in February is also a good time to trek to Everest Base Camp the weather will be cold and snow blizzards can occur blocking the view, but non the less an adventure in itself. The autumn and spring seasons are considered the high seasons and trekking trails can get packed, while there is safety in numbers for those who like to enjoy more privacy and nature we do recommend coming in the winter or the early summer.

Accommodations during Everest Base Camp Deluxe Trek

Accommodations during the trip are absolutely incredible. During our stay in Kathmandu, we make use of some of the best international hotels as such Tibet International Hotel or similar standards and during the trek, accommodations in the luxury lodges like Yeti Mountain Home and Everest Summit Lodges are arranged.

Accommodations further in the trek during the EBC Luxury lodges trek will be arranged in the best available lodges. Besides our stay in the hotels and the luxury lodge, the smaller lodges only have shared bathrooms and toilets. All the rooms are based on a twin-sharing base but a single room can also be managed in the luxury lodges and hotels during the trek. Do note that an additional amount of 1390 USD will be added, and in the smaller lodges, it might not always be possible to get a single room, depending on the season. Alpine Eco Trek is more than happy to arrange this, just let us know during your booking.

Meals during Everest Base Camp Luxury Trekking

Meals during the EBC Luxury lodges trek, a wide variety of delicacies awaits. During your stay in the hotels, a Bed and Breakfast plan is arranged so you can still enjoy the local restaurants. These have a choice of continental and international dishes such as Tibetan, Italian, Mexican, and Indian, but of course, visiting Nepal you would like to taste this amazing country’s traditional dishes. Alpine Eco Trek arranges a welcome and a farewell dinner in a traditional Nepali restaurant with even a cultural show. During the trek, daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served from the menus of the local lodges. Meals during the trek are essential as you will need the energy for this adventurous trek in Nepal.

Health and Fitness for Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek

Everest Base Camp Luxury trek doesn’t come with special health conditions and experience requirements. This amazing trek in Nepal can be done by novice trekkers, just make sure you got the determination and good attitude to see it through. Hiking through the Himalayas for an average of 4 to 7 hours a day carrying your own personal backpack, and on some days 8 to 9 hours can be strenuous for some but our expert team is there to guide you every step of the way. Alpine Eco Trek does recommend building up your stamina a few weeks prior to your departure to Nepal, this, in turn, will help you enjoy more of this incredible trek to Everest Base Camp.

A great way to build up your stamina is by jogging, gym fitness, or even hiking to higher elevations. Those with pre-hiking or trekking experience will have it a bit easier than others but as no technical skills are required, this trek can be completed by young and old. Those with medical conditions such as lung, blood, or heart conditions are required to inform us during your booking so that we can take the required steps to ensure your safety. We do recommend consulting with your doctor before heading out and asking for advice about AMS Acute Mountain Sickness.

Acclimatization during Everest Base Camp Luxury Tour

With the high altitude, trekking comes also acclimatization. During Alpine Eco Trek’s Everest Base Camp Luxury trek of 18 days, a carefully planned itinerary is organized with the necessary acclimatization days planned. As you trek above 5000m the oxygen becomes less and it’s crucial to take the proper steps to avoid AMS, Acute Mountain Sickness. AMS is not to take lightly as there are cases where it ended up in serious illness and in some cases even death. Trekkers with previous lung or heart diseases are recommended to discuss our itinerary with your doctor before departing or even booking this trek.

Prevention is better than cure as they say, and with Alpine Eco trek your safety is our main priority during any type of trek in Nepal. Common symptoms of AMS are frequent fatigue, stomach pains, lightheadedness, loss of appetite, and fever. Our guides are professionally trained to deal with AMS but they are not doctors as so during the trek if you might feel any of these symptoms you are required to report to your trekking guide so that they may take the necessary steps to help you further acclimatize and successfully finish your trek.

Useful Information

Having trekked the length and breadth of Nepal’s rugged and remote trails for almost two decades, we’ve seen so much and done so much, braving the seismic calamities of nature on our Himalayas and toiling through our jagged mountains with blood, sweat, and tears but never doubt it, we enjoyed it so much to the hilt, today we are a full-blown established company fully owned and operated by Locals. Read More

Environmental Concerns

With trekking comes the necessary environmental concerns and we at Alpine Eco Trek like to keep it Green and Clean. While trekking through the Everest region is amazing it’s also becoming more and more fragile as more trekkers descend upon its amazing trekking trails and leave it not always as clean as it was. Alpine Eco Trek works strongly alongside KEEP, the Kathmandu Environmental Education Project, and employs a  Zero Impact policy to help preserve the natural environment and the local communities of all our trekking places, as so we prepare a list of do’s and don’ts for our trekkers.

Excellent Tour Company: Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek

Ram was beyond helpful since our arrival prior to the Everest Base Camp luxury trek. Very friendly and attentive and fluent in English. From the beginning, they made us feel a part of the family. Dhurba took us from Kathmandu to Everest Base Camp and back and this experience was truly something to remember for the rest of our life. We did the private trek and the price was one of the best values we could get anywhere else. Dhurba was very professional and as our guide, he was extremely honest, friendly and knowledgeable of the surroundings and what was best. We highly recommend Alpine Eco Trek for their services, their affordable prices and everything else.
