Australian Camp trekking Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara, 6-7 hrs drive.

Day 04: Drive to Phedi, trek to Dhumpus, overnight at Lodge/tea house.

Day 05: Australian Camp, o/n at Lodge/Tea house.

Day 06: Trek to Sarankot and descend to Pokhara.

Day 07: Final departure.

  • Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu:

    Upon your arrival in the Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Alpine Eco Trek Company. You will be then transferred to a Hotel. After checking in, you can take rest stroll around the city. In the evening we will organize a Welcome Dinner at an excellent traditional Nepalese Restaurant where you will enjoy a Nepalese cultural program with a fine meal. Overnight at hotel.

  • Day 02 Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation:

    Today after breakfast, we start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered World Heritage Sites including the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambhunath) and Buddhists shrine (Buddha Nath) which is one of the largest Stupas in the world. In the afternoon, there will be a pre-trip discussion where we can meet your trek leader and other team members. We brief you regarding your trek as well as provide you opportunity to ask any questions you may have regarding your upcoming adventure. You might shop around the city if you need any gears for the trek during the evening time. Overnight at hotel.

  • Day 03 Drive to Pokhara, 6-7 hrs drive:

    In the early morning, we take a tourist bus to Pokhara, 200 km drive takes six hours. Upon reaching the enchanting city of Pokhara which offers magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhare, five peaks of Annapurna and others, we check in to the hotel. Pokhara has numerous lakes, known as 'Tal' in Nepali which offer fishing, boating and swimming. Strolling around the Lakeside city and exploring it in the evening is enjoyable. Overnight in a hotel in Pokhara.

  • Day 04 Drive to Phedi, trek to Dhumpus, overnight at Lodge/tea house:

    After breakfast at hotel, we will drive to Dhumpus Phedi; the drive is about 1 hour- about 40km north west of Pokhara city. Drive through a large Tibetan camp at Hyanjha where local handicraft can be purchased and weaving of Tibetan carpet can be observed. The next village before Phedi is Suikhet. Depending upon weather, physical and logistical condition Suikhet provides alternative route to Dhumpus. The road to Phedi in the Yamdi Khola (river) valley is quite good. From Phedi start climbing up hill to Dhumpus (1770m). It takes about 2 hour easy walk up the stairs through the terraced rice field. It is a large Gurung village. There are several tea houses and lodge accommodations in this region.

  • Day 05 Australian Camp, o/n at Lodge/Tea house :

    From Dhumpus the trail climbs steadily and gradually to Pothana (1,890m). The gradual uphill walk is about 2 hours. Lunch stop at at Pothana. Instead of taking the main trail to Ghandrung (1,951m), one of the best-known villages in the foothill of Annapurna, situated above Modi Khola (river) we take the trail to Australian Camp (2,232m); it is a well known name and has vantage point to see the Himalaya range all around. The trail from Pothana turns southwest to Khare (1,524m) and Naundanda (1,457m). In the beginning make a gradual uphill ascend for about 45 minutes. After spending sometime at the vantage point we continue to descend the trail to Khara (1,457m); it should take about one hour easy downhill walk. Overnight lodge Australian camp.

  • Day 06 Trek to Sarankot and descend to Pokhara:

    On the last day depending upon our flight schedule to Pokhara either we walk to Sarankot or descend to Phedi to take bus to Pokhara. The walk on the Kaski ridge from Naundanda to Sarankot (1,592m) is pleasant. The walk is on the level ridge with open space all the way. The views of Annapurna and Machapuchare can be seen all along. Though the gravel road runs parallel to the trail yet it is nice to walk along the ridge. The day hike from Naundanda to Sarankot can take about 4 hour; Sarankot is a popular viewpoint for tourist and local to see the surrounding view and the Himalaya. Depending upon our time from Sarankot we can descend to Phewa lake and take boat to Pokhara. Transfer to airport Fly to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

  • Day 07 Final departure:

    The trip comes to an end today! If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. A representative from our company will take you to the airport approximately three hours before the scheduled flight. We wish you have a wonderful flight. See you again someday in the Future.
