8 Days Kopra Ridge Trek Itinerary

Day 01: Drive Pokhara to Nayapul (2 hours drive) then 3 hours trek to Tikhedunga, overnight at lodge.

Day 02: Trek to Ghorepani (2,640m- 4/5 hours walk), overnight at lodge.

Day 03: Poon Hill excursion and trek to Swanta (2,270m-3/4 hours walk), overnight at lodge.

Day 04: Trek to Dhan Kharka (3,020m-4/5 hours walk), overnight at lodge.

Day 05: Trek to Kopra Ridge (3,620m- 3/4 hours walk), overnight at lodge.

Day 06: Trek to Bayeli (4,520m- 5/6 hours walk), overnight at lodge.

Day 07: Trek to Tadapani (2,830m- 7/8 hours walk, overnight at lodge.

Day 08: Trek to Ghandruk and drive back to Pokhara (3 hours walk then 31 hours drive), End services.

  • Day 01 Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, 2 hours, trek to Tikhedunga, 3 hours, overnight at lodge:

    Trekking starts today from Nayapul after 2 hours drive from your hotel in Pokhara. This trek basically starts from here onwards as we following the routes; the trail leads us eventually outstanding green views with magnificent mountain range along the way. After hiking few hours short trip today than we reach to Tikhedunga which is small but gorgeous town lies on the riverside, overnight we stay at the lodge with beautiful traditional meals.

  • Day 02 Trek to Ghorepani (2,640m- 4/5 hours walk), overnight at lodge:

    After breakfast, we ascent more than 900 meters to Ghorepani, our hiking will be started as we finished morning breakfast at the lodge, while after having breakfast then we start gently climb on the hills to Ulleri which is situated at 2350 meters mainly this village is Magar settlement and place lies on the top of the hills the place was surrounded by green valley. And this is a place of the first viewpoint of Annapurna and Machhapuchhare himal. The really cool place to have the tea break and enjoy the scenery after beautiful tea stopped than our journey follows continually towards Ghorepani walking through the rainforest and beautiful nature. As we reach Ghorepani we have entered the check post to check ACAP permits and TIMS cards than we enjoy the view from our lodge. Ghorepani is one of the best viewpoints to see the whole range of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.

  • Day 03 Trek to Swanta (2,270m-3/4 hours walk), overnight at lodge:

    After breakfast, we will be descending through the beautiful mixed forest of rhododendron forests, Himalayan oak, and pine trees. After almost about 3 hours down the hill, we reach a small river, which we continue to follow leisurely downhill Swanta (2,200 m), overnight we stay at the lodge with beautiful traditional meals.

  • Day 04 Trek to Dhan Kharka (3,020m-4/5 hours walk), overnight at lodge:

    The beautiful day starts after having breakfast in the early morning with the glorious sunrise view, today's hike is worth the climb to the popular lookout mountain Poon Hill. The comprehensive view extends from Dhaulagiri peak in the west and Tukuche over the Kali Gandaki valley, Nilgiri, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machhapuchare, Annapurna IV and II and Lamjung Himal to the Manaslu massif in the east.

  • Day 05 Trek to Kopra Dada (3,620m- 3/4 hours walk), overnight at lodge:

    Today is our one of the exciting days to explore Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massif, our journey will begin after having breakfast at the lodge. Today's our trekking trail leads us to a short descent along a mountain slope to the foothills of the nearly 8,000 m high Bara Shikar. Finally, we reach Kopra Danda ( Danda = open ridge ) to 3,660 m. This opens up a breathtaking 360-degree view, overnight we stay at the tea house.

  • Day 06 Trek to Bayeli (4,520m- 5/6 hours walk), overnight at lodge:

    We leave the main path and head into the deep, almost untouched Rhododendron mixed forest. Little over-committed paths it goes slowly uphill. The forest thins to approximately 3,100 m elevation and the path leading out into open grassland. For our lunch break, we are looking for a nice place with good views. Then it continues uphill through the forest and over pastures to the pasture Dobato. Here you can shepherd down with their livestock in the summer. In Sumphul Danda (3,400 m) we reach a pass that gives us an uninterrupted view of the western mountains of Dhaulagiri, the Nilgiri mountains and the Annapurna massif to Machhapuchare in the east. After a short descent, it's another hour along the ridge (3,500 m) to our simple accommodation on the Bayeli Alm (3,400 m). This “Community Lodge " is managed jointly by the inhabitants of the surrounding villages.

  • Day 07 Trek to Tadapani (2,830m- 7/8 hours walk, overnight at lodge:

    With great views of mountains, morning walk continues downhill into the forest of rhododendron, oak, and magnolia, then reaching the main trekking route at Tadapani, overnight in the comfort of the nice and cozy lodge, and enjoy the beautiful sunset on the top of Annapurna south and fishtail mountains.

  • Day 08 Trek to Ghandruk village and drive back to Pokhara (3 hours walk than 3 hours drive):

    Today is as you reach Ghandruk after the short and wonderful walk from Tadapani we will see a Gurung traditional museum at Ghandruk, Ghandruk is one of the best destinations for domestic or international tourists so many travellers visit here to see the ethnic culture and traditional. The place still provides us beautiful landscape and awesome mountains view with Annapurna south, Machhapuchre, and Annapurna II, the journey ends here and we will drive to Pokhara.
