Our 3-day Poon Hill trek starts from Pokhara and takes you through terraced farming villages, dense mossy forests, and beautiful icy waterfalls where we can stop to cool our faces. Each day of 3 days Poon Hill trek offers an amazing view of high mountains and dramatic landscapes with magical green hills. The sunrise view from Poon Hill is breathtaking.

We begin 3 days Poon Hill trek after a two-hour drive through knobby roads to Nayapul from Pokhara. We begin walking to Ulleri via Tikhedhunga village. The very next day from Ulleri, we continue trekking through the rhododendron forests to Ghorepani village, which is the highlight of our trip as we get there by walking through pretty tough uphill and downhill trails, via streams, jungles, and farming lands. Ghorepani is a beautiful and prepossessing village with nice and homely lodges, friendly people, and the view of the great range of Annapurna looming about throughout the year.

3 days Poon Hill trek will make you witness a beautiful and spectacular sunrise view from Poon Hill (3,250 m) as well as the brilliant views of the Himalayas including the Annapurna range, and Mount Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Mount Fishtail, and many more white snow-capped mountains.

Discover amazing views with every hike especially with an early morning hike to Poon Hill in order to witness the grand views of the spectacular Himalayan range. Along with the sunrise which will surely be the highlight of the trip. Poon Hill is truly one of the best viewpoints in the Annapurna region and also one of the best viewpoints in the world.

Please do not forget to bring a Torch Light for the Poon Hill hike. On the second day, the hike will be early in the morning around 4:30 AM from Ghorepani village to Poon Hill viewpoint to see the grand sunrise and the breathtaking Himalayas. Bookings are open for the years 2023, and 2024, contact us for special cost, itinerary, and departure dates.

Amazing 3 days Poon Hill trek with the best guide

When searching for sustainable tourism in Nepal I found this agency Alpine Eco Trek. My boyfriend and I had booked the Poon Hill tour, and it was one of the most amazing trips we have ever been on! The trip itself was planned well. Together with our guide Ramesh, Ram Kumar did an excellent job in offering great service and meeting every need that we had! Through the trek, we got to see diverse and beautiful scenery – jungle, waterfalls, rural villages, etc. But best of all, our guide Ramesh. Ramesh was so polite and made us feel safe and comfortable. We had lots of fun with him on the trek – playing card games and telling us about the culture and history.

If you want a short, challenging, and amazing trip we recommend booking a trip through Alpine Eco Trek.

Best wishes, Sidse (and Philip), Denmark

Amazing Trip

We did 3 days Poon Hill trip with Ram and his company. It was amazing even if I found it a bit tough! Ram arranged everything from our hotels in Kathmandu to a stunning hotel in Pokhara, the Temple Tree. Then we had Ramis as our guide and Amit as our porter for the 3 days. They were brilliant and so supportive. As I walked more slowly than my wife, one of them stuck with me all of the way. They were both kind, funny and great to have around. Nothing was too much trouble. Ram couldn’t do enough for us, changing flights and arranging longer stays in hotels for super low prices and always without any hassle. I would highly recommend this company and we will use them again in hopefully the near future.

Excellent company to travel with

My husband and I have just come back from Nepal, where we did 3 days trek with Alpine Eco Trek. I started planning the trip about 5 months ago and found this company on Tripadvisor. From the first email, Ram Kumar, the owner, could not have been more helpful. The trek itself was great, we had a guide, Ramis and a porter Amit. Both were great. My husband couldn’t keep up with me and so either Ramis or Amit would walk with him. We kept to our own pace every day, it was brilliant. We did the Poon Hill trek so walked through beautiful forests up to stunning mountains. I watched the sunrise from Poon Hill…awesome.

Ram, the owner went out of his way to help us, we changed flights and stayed in Pokhara longer, he booked hotel rooms for us with very little notice, he picked us up from the airport and dropped us back. We cannot thank him and his team enough. Ram gave us an idea of what to pack and then picked out great hotels in Pokhara and Kathmandu. The guest houses on the trek were fine, and basic, but clean and all had hot showers, which is a huge plus in the Himalayas. I plan to trek again and use this company. I have trekked to base camp in the past and both that and this short trek were amazing, so I would highly recommend them.

Amazing trek up Poon Hill

I contacted Ram about three weeks before our departure and he was very responsive and patiently answered all my questions. Our guide and porter, also called Ram and Durba respectively were excellent from the moment they picked us up at our hotel in Pokhara. Myself and my friend are females in our twenties and we both felt very safe with them. The tea houses are extremely basic in the mountains, we paid a little extra to have a private bathroom as most have a communal bathroom.

Make sure you bring toilet roll as this is not provided anywhere! The tea houses are freezing cold at night so bring plenty of layers including a warm hat and a hot water bottle if you can.

Also ensure you bring local currency for any extras you wish to buy such as dessert or extra drinks. Another group we met on the trek who went with another tour group reached Ghorepani village on the second night and most of the guest houses were booked up so they were walking around with their bags trying to find a place which would be extremely annoying when you are tired after trekking all day. I appreciated that Ram organized our guest houses in advance to ensure we got a room.

Another point to mention is that we were quite shocked to see some porters from other companies were women and wearing flimsy flip-flops for the climb while carrying heavy weights on their backs which I do not think is morally right. Our porter was wearing appropriate footwear which eased my guilt about him carrying our bags. The hotels in Pokhara provide lockers so you can leave anything unnecessary at the bottom to avoid any extra weight for your porter to carry.

All in all, we had an amazing time- it really is another world up in the mountains and a wonderful experience to see how the locals live up there. I really appreciate the organization that Ram put into our trip! The view at the top is spectacular and it’s well worth the climb.

Poon Hill Trek could not have been better

Two friends and I did a 03 day Poon Hill Trek, and our guide Sarjan made the trip so good for us. From all the interesting information that he provided to the support and help in the taxing descent from Ghorepani, he was always ready with a helping hand and a smile. Fantastic trek and 10 out of 10 guide, thanks so much Sarjan.

3 Days Poon Hill Trek

What a fantastic team who run this company, Ram and Sangita. We had no experience of trekking but were soon put at ease. The 03 days Poon Hill trek itself was challenging, but we enjoyed every minute. Ram went at our pace which apparently was fast. We will definitely come back for another trek. If you need a porter, they do not overload them as other ruthless companies do. They are great, honest guys.
