10 Days Everest Base Camp Trek Itinerary

Day 01: Fly from KTM to Lukla (2,880m), and trek to Phakding (2,640m), 4 hrs walking.

Day 02: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,445m), 5 to 6 hrs walking.

Day 03: Acclimatization day, hike to Everest view hotel.

Day 04: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,860m), 5 to 6 hrs walking.

Day 05: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,250m), 5 to 6 hrs walking.

Day 06: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,900m), 5 to 6 hrs walking.

Day 07: Trek from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) via Gorakshep (5,150m), 8 hrs walking.

Day 08: Trek from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar (5,545m.) and then to Pheriche (4,240m), 7 hrs walking.

Day 09: Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,445m), 5 to 6 hrs walking.

Day 10: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,880m), 6 to 7 hours walking.

Day 11: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, 35 minutes.

  • Day 01 Fly from KTM to Lukla (2,880m), and trek to Phakding (2,640m), 4 hrs walking.

    After a scenic and adventurous 35 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, you begin your journey to the Everest Base Camp. You will trek to Phakding which takes approximately 4 hours to reach. On the way, you will witness the beautiful Mt Nupla (5,885m), Mt. KusumKangaru (6,367m) and Mt. Kwongde range. Dinner and overnight stay at Phakding (2,652m).

  • Day 02 Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,445m), 5 to 6 hrs walking.

    The trail passes through magnificent waterfalls. We pass through villages with dense forests where you come across rhododendrons which are the national flower of Nepal, creamy-pink colored magnolia trees, and giant firs. Along the way, you will be pleased to witness your first glimpse of lofty Mt. KusumKangru (6369m), Mt. Thamserku (6608m), Mt. Everest (8848m) and Mt. Nuptse (7879 m). A steep climb brings you to the lovely village of Namche bazaar (3440m).

  • Day 03 Acclimatization day, hike to Everest view hotel.

    Acclimatization is very important before proceeding to a higher elevation. It is therefore recommended that you take a short day’s hike to Thame, Khunde, Khumjung or up to Everest view hotel which provides you with a very close view of Mt Everest. But this is entirely optional. You are free to relax and explore the Sherpa culture of Namche as well.

  • Day 04 Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,860m), 5 to 6 hrs walking.

    After walking an hour, you will arrive in Phungithanga. From there, the trail moves straight up through dense forests where you can spot musk deer. Tengboche sits on a saddle at 3870m in a clearing surrounded by dwarf fires and rhododendrons. Himalayan giants, Mt. Kwongde (6187m), Mt. Tawache (6542m), Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Nuptse (7855m), Mt. Lhotse (8618m), Mt. Amadablam (6856m) and Mt. Thamserku (6608m) surrounds you creating a panoramic view where we can have a short photo break. After that, we visit the Buddhist Monastery at Tengboche, the largest monastery in Khumbu region.

  • Day 05 Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,250m), 5 to 6 hrs walking.

    Walking beyond Tengboche, the altitude starts to act up. The trail moves down to Dingboche, crosses the Imja Khola and ascents past superb Mani stones - carved with the Tibetan Buddhist chant, Om Mani Padme Hum, to Pangboche at an elevation of 3860m. The Gompa here is worth visiting as it holds a great cultural value. The trail moves up to Pheriche at 4,240m above sea level where we will find the medical facility and they will be providing you with necessary tips on Altitude Sickness.

  • Day 06 Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,900m), 5 to 6 hrs walking.

    From Dughla, the trail ascends to a broad, gently sloping valley, eventually leading to steep trails in the terminal moraine of the Khumbu glacier. We are then left into the memorial area at Chukpilhara before reaching the beautiful Lobuche at 4,930m.

  • Day 07 Trek from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) via Gorakshep (5,150m), 8 hrs walking.

    The trail from Lobuche follows the grassy ablation valley with aesthetically pleasing views of Pumori. The trail then crosses tributary glaciers reaching the dry lake bed of Gorak Shep. At this point, we briefly stop for lunch and then climb the famous Kalapatthar to get the best scenes of Everest and the mountains surrounding it. We then depart back to Gorak Shep for the evening.

  • Day 08 Trek from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar (5,545m.) and then to Pheriche (4,240m), 7 hrs walking.

    Early morning, we walk to Everest Base Camp and visit Everest base camp area. We then walk down towards Pheriche.
