We Care and Share - Sharing for the Survival of Mountain Communities

Just caring for without giving can be akin to ‘wait horse, till the grass grows’...

Nepal’s landlocked geography is both boon and bane. No one knows when a natural disaster can strike and villagers residing on these wonderful but punishing mountains face the brunt of seismic disruptions that are common to Nepal’s physical landscapes; and it’s on these mountains that we escort & guide our mountain loving guests to throughout the year. We know that environmental factors & its conservation are critical to as much as its huge attractions are when we trek its paths and gawk at its immense beauty; however, on the flip side of the coin, experience from our observations also shows us an important perspective related to mountain culture & the lifestyles & struggles of the local communities who’ve been living on these mountains for centuries...and in our travails with our guests, it has always been in our hearts at ‘Alpine Eco Trek’ to give something back to mountain communities especially in areas where we trek:

This is where we endeavor to make ‘Responsible Tourism’ more Responsible & Practical than it seems.

Our trips are geared to prevent impact on the fragile ecosystems in the Himalayas & we take into the account the communities who live in areas where we visit; this includes contributing to education & health for villages in areas we visit. Our trekking crews are known to the locals, their traditional lifestyles...and their needs. We are also thoroughly familiar with the lay of the land which helps to prevent injuries & fatal accidents in the event of an unknown calamity.

We always encourage our trekking guests to avoid any luxuries using wood & ensure we use teahouses that grow organic veggies & try as far as possible to discourage guests from using canned foods. We avoid using campfires as far as possible and ensure our porters are well protected from the harsh elements on the Himalayas. Alpine Eco Trek is very generous with schools needing attention in remote Himalayan outpost & we also contribute towards the elimination of poverty in Nepal’s remote regions where we operate. We also encourage our guests to contribute towards these dire issues evident in areas where we trek to enjoy Nepal’s exquisite beauty...

On all of our sojourns with our guests across the trails of Nepal’s Himalayas, we go the mile in opening mind-blowing vistas so that our honoured guests enjoy an unexplored world they’ve never been familiar with & there’s fun and thrills on the way; without forgetting our commitment to the environment & our thoughts for the local folks who share with us in protecting our precious ecosystems for future trekkers to enjoy on their visits to our breathtaking country...Nepal...
