Damodar Kunda lies in Mustang region which is situated in the northern central part of Nepal, and at the top of the Kaligandaki River where the languages, culture and traditions are similar to those of the Tibetan people. This area is consider as one of the most interesting and picturesque places in Nepal. The whole area has an isolated and mystical feel to it, enchanting and inspiring visitors to this region. Mustang region is a very popular destination for horse riding holidays.
The Damodar Lake is situated three days walk north east of the main Mustang trekking route & very close to the border with Tibet. Damodar Kunda located on restricted upper mustang between Kagbeni and Muktinath which is famous for Hindu religion, it is situated rain shadow are of High Himalayas north of Annapurna range. The maximum altitude of the Damodar Kund is just 4890meters and it is cold and windy place. We also recommend to you visit during the full moon of August every year, because every year there is a big festival up there many pilgrimages Hindu and Buddhist visit full moon of August. Usually, you can visit April to September every year. Festival time is great for visiting Damodar Kund. From Damodar Kund, the views are excellent. From some viewpoints a bit higher than the lakes, (just a short climb up some of the hills) you can see the Tibetan plateau & Damodar Himal to the north and the Annapurna Himalayan massive to the south.

Day 04: 35 minutes flight from Pokhara to Jomsom then horse ride trek to Kagbeni (2800m, 2750m/3-hrs. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 05: Kagbeni horse riding to Chele 3050m/5-hrs.
Day 06: Chele horse riding to Geling 3510m/6-hrs. Visit two Gompa.
Day 07: Geling horse riding to Tsarang 3620m/5-hrs.

Day 09: Explore around Lo-Manthang.
Day 10: Lo-Mangthang horse riding to Yara 4200m//5-hrs. Visit Luri Gompa.
Day 11: Yara horse riding to Bas Khola, 4500m/6-hrs.
Day 12: Bas Khola horse riding to Damodar Kunda 4890m/5-hrs. Festival observes full moon of August for pilgrimages Hindu and Buddhist.
Day 13: Damodar Kunda horse riding to Ghechung Khola 4000m/5-hrs.
Day 14: Ghechung Khola horse riding to Tange 3240m/6-hrs.
Day 15: Tange horse riding to Tetang 2900m/7-hrs.
Day 16: Tetang horse riding to Muktinath 3760m/ 6-hrs. Visit pilgrimage site for Buddhists and Hindus.
Day 17: Muktinath horse riding back to Jomsom 2750m/5-hrs.
Day 18: Jomsom 25 minutes flight to Pokhara 820m. Overnight at hotel.
Day 19: Pokhara drive to Kathmandu 1317m. Overnight at hotel.
